How do I defeat Ness's Nightmare?

Ness's Nightmare has a deadly "Glorious light" attack which is actually a form of PSI Flash. As such, you should have some sort of protection against Flash (Night Pendant, Sea Pendant, Star Pendant) before entering this battle. (The only pendant available in Magicant is the Earth Pendant, which only offers 50% protection, so you'll want to make sure Ness has the correct pendant before defeating your eighth sanctuary guardian and entering Magicant. If you don't, however, 50% is better than nothing.)

By this point in the game, Ness already has a large number of hit points, so even if he is mortally wounded, he has enough time to cast Lifeup before his HP meter rolls to zero. Thus, the easiest way to defeat Ness's Nightmare is to be sure to have 100% Flash protection, and use Auto Fight.
